Our first horse show in the hunt club arena with classes for kids and adults was a fun and sometimes very wet adventure. Placings for classes and Division Championships are listed below.

Hunter Hack
A traditional Hunter Hack class is a type of English pleasure class where exhibitors in Hunt seat tack and attire perform on the flat at a walk, trot, canter and hand gallop, and then jump two low fences. The horse is judged on its manners and way of going. Hilltoppers were judged at a walk, trot and canter and asked to jump two crossrails (can be trotted). The Second Flight Hunter Hack was be judged at a walk, trot, canter and were asked to hand gallop and jump two 18” jumps. Class 2. Stirrup Cup All Day – following on show season’s favorite class, “Rose All Day” we are adapting it to our sport! Traditionally before a hunt sets off, port or sherry is served to the riders to give them a shot of courage! Riders take a glass of libation off a silver tray and were asked to walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring.

Tasks may include standing still while you are offered a glass of libation from a silver tray and being able to return it the tray, passing a flask from one rider to another (flasks provided), opening and closing a gate, dismounting and walking your horse over a low log (mounting block provided). WHC members will be judged separately from non-members and get extra points for correct attire and tack, including the secret sandwich recipe!
